Intentionally Shaping Your Culture

An organization is only as successful as its culture allows. Winning organizations are fanatical about crafting a specific set of values that are clearly communicated to all team members. When values are clearly defined, they become expectations for the team to look to for guidance. This is the first step towards intentionally shaping your culture. All organizations have a culture, but few organizations intentionally shaped it. Most organizations hire based upon needed skills while overlooking the more important attribute of culture fit. It does not matter how qualified an individual is for a position, if they do not fit within the culture of the organization, either they will leave or other key team members will look for other opportunities.

You must clarify your values and set clear expectations. That is the first step to shape the culture you want to see in your organization.
